Published Fri 12 May 2017

The Western Australian assault on the World Masters Games is over, following 5 days of racing at picturesque Lake Karapiro, New Zealand last month.  In perfect weather conditions at an outstanding venue, masters rowers from UWABC, Fremantle BC, Perth RC and Murdoch RC banded together to race in 36 events, coming away with some great results, some final appearances, achievement of personal goals and a few medals.  The standard of competition was high, featuring many ex Olympians, World Champions and experienced rowers ranging from A to K grade (yes that would be aged 85+).  Congratulations to Jeff McDonald & Jane McIntyre (Bronze XD2x), Chris Lloyd/Lorelle Klump (Bronze XE2x), Michael Hawkins/Evelyn Bowen (Bronze XF-G4+), Mary Searle (Silver WH2x, Gold WH-K4-, Gold WH4+).

Congratulations to all the WA Rowers, we hope you enjoyed the regatta!
