- Provide a transparent and fair framework for the selection of State representative crews that have the best chance of achieving success through competing with distinction in interstate competition;
- Support the high-performance pathways of athletes, coxswains and coaches.
Program Objectives
Part of the Pathways 2024 mission is to achieve one winning crew at the Interstate Regatta each year.
Other objectives of the State Team program include:
- Produce medal potential boats that compete for WA in Interstate Regatta;
- Provide opportunities for athletes and coaches to compete for their state;

Rowing Australia - Planning for Success
A key focus for the National Pathway is to support your off-water ambitions and ensure you are able to appropriately manage your life-load which includes areas such as study, training, relationships etc. with the long-term view of retaining you in our sport for many Olympic cycles. With that in mind, the Rowing Australia Pathway Team has developed Planning for Success for prospective national team members; a document that sets out and highlights the requirements and expectations of representation and helps you better understand and manage your own circumstances and commitments.
The full document is available to view on the Rowing Australia website - Planning for Success document
For ease of reference, Rowing Australia have also created Fact Sheets as summary documents:
