Rules of Racing
Background
The Rowing WA (RWA) Rules of Racing are updated regularly to improve accessibility, clarity, and consistency across competitions. These changes are based on extensive consultation and review.
Where possible the RWA Rules of Racing align with the Rowing Australia Rules of Racing, unless a variation is necessary. The RWA Rules of Racing undergo a review whenever Rowing Australia review their rules (typically annually).
Additionally, broader amendments are considered to enhance the structure and usability of the rules. Key objectives include:
- General Rule Cleanup – Updating or removing outdated provisions to ensure clarity and consistency.
- Streamlining Rules – Aligning with Rowing Australia’s rules where possible, reducing unnecessary variations.
- Clarity and Accessibility – Redrafting rules to be more user-friendly and easily understood.
