Oceanic U22 Teams Rowing Championships

We invite athletes who are 18 years old by the 23rd July and under 22 years old a of 31 December 2025 to apply for a tour headed to West Lakes South Australia for the 24-27th July 2025.

Event Overview

For the past decade or so Rowing Australia has coordinated an Under 21 Trans-Tasman event with New Zealand. Through mutual agreement both Rowing Australian and Rowing New Zealand agreed to cease this competition following the 2024 event. Recognising this gap in the pathway, the State Rowing Associations wanted to ensure rowers had opportunities to aspire to between U19 and U23. This new interstate regatta, based on previous ‘Youth Cup’ concepts was created to fill this void. 2025 will be the first year of this new and exciting regatta.

Tour Philosophy 

The 2025 Oceanic U22 Teams Rowing Championships is a ‘Teams’ based competition held for U22 Athletes representing their state (within Australia) or island (within New Zealand) or country (in the case of visiting teams) to encourage collaboration, competition, and participation.

The purpose is to provide a key development opportunity for athletes, coaches and administrators. The event is to be run with the experience of the athletes being the central foundation that the event is built upon.
