Schools Pathway Team

Overview

The Schools Pathway Program is a Rowing Australia initiative for the best schoolboy and schoolgirl rowers in each state to compete against each other. The aim of the Pathway Program is to expose school rowers and coaches to the next level of rowing. It is a chance to experience the national rowing selection process, compete against their school counterparts from around the country, to work with high-level coaches & support staff and encourage school rowers to make the next step in their rowing pathway.

Purpose: Through this program, Rowing WA seeks to:

  • provide the best student rowers and coaches in Western Australia with opportunities to represent their state,
  • compete strongly in the respective events, and
  • provide progressive pathways and opportunities for elite athletes.

Eligibility: Athletes from any secondary school in Western Australia are eligible for selection into the RWA Pathway VIII crews. All nominating rowers and coxswains must be enrolled in a secondary school for the year of nomination and must be under 19 years of age as at December 31 of that year. That school does not need to be a 'rowing' school.

Please note - there is a cost to the Pathway Trip to cover accommodation, catering, equipment & everything that comes with a Rowing trip. This is approximately $1200 excluding flights.
