Wrap Up!

The 2025 Act Belong Commit All Schools State Championships rolled full steam ahead on Saturday 23rd August, after a weather postponement two weeks earlier. Schools and Clubs were blessed with perfect weather as the largest schools regatta ever took place.

To keep the program to one day, crews were seeded based on All Schools 3 and previous regatta results. Seeded divisions allowed for any crew to win the State Championship title without enduring a heat and a separate final. This made for a day of competitive racing with every division going down to the wire to claim first line honours.

Off-water our amazing host club Canning Bridge Rowing Club, catered BBQ feeds, sweet treats and refreshments to keep our participants, spectators and officials fuelled throughout the day. We were fortunate to have Act Belong Commit set up a Mindfulness zone where juniors could play games of giant jenga, relax on foam cushions and make a pledge to stay mentally healthy.

The School Boys Open Single Scull State title was claimed in a States record time of 3:30.68 by Banjo Morris-Luck from Swan River / Trinity College. The School Girls Open Single Scull State title was also claimed in a States record time of 3:57.22 by Oceane Jeannerat from Fremantle / John Curtin College of the Arts.

The Open Coxed Eights wrapped up the State Championships with the final races held over 1500m. For the Year 12s, this would be their last race in their school colours. Crowds packed the shoreline in front of the red buoys with the commentary from the livestream painting a picture of what occurred in the early stages. Shenton College won the Boys Open Coxed Eight in a State's record time of 4:58.87 and Fremantle also won the Girls Open Coxed Eight in a state's record time of 5:28.40.
