WA Athletes Named in Rowsellas Team for 2026 World Championships

Rowing WA congratulates seven West Australian athletes who have been selected to represent Australia at the 2026 World Rowing Championships in Amsterdam, Netherlands, from 24-30 August.

The Australian Rowsellas Team features 61 athletes across the men's, women's and para rowing programs, with crews selected following domestic and international trials and performances throughout the World Cup season.

Western Australia is strongly represented across both the men's and women's squads, with athletes from Fremantle Rowing Club, Swan River Rowing Club, West Australian Rowing Club and UWA Boat Club earning selection.

Johnson Daubney (Swan River Rowing Club), has been named in the Senior Men's Quadruple Scull after helping the crew reach the A Final at World Cup III in Lucerne.

Benjamin Scott (Fremantle Rowing Club) has been selected in the Senior Men's Four and will make his Senior World Championships debut in Amsterdam. His selection follows a strong performance in the Australia A Four during the international season. Scott will be awarded a numbered McVilly-Pearce Pin following his first Senior World Championships appearance.

Fellow West Australian Alexander Baroni (West Australian Rowing Club) has also been selected as a Senior Men's Spare and is among the travelling reserves for the Championships.

In the women's squad, Olympic Gold Medallist Annabelle McIntyre OAM OLY (Fremantle Rowing Club) has been named in the Senior Women's Quadruple Scull. McIntyre returns to World Championship competition following a successful comeback from surgery and adds invaluable experience to the crew heading into Amsterdam.

The Senior Women's Four will feature a strong Western Australian presence with three WA athletes selected in the crew: Bronwyn Cox OLY (UWA Boat Club), Giorgia Patten OLY (West Australian Rowing Club) and Jacqueline Swick OLY (Swan River Rowing Club). The crew will look to build on its impressive silver medal performance at World Cup III in Lucerne.

Rowing Australia Performance Director Paul Thompson MBE said the team heading to Amsterdam reflects the depth being developed across Australian rowing as preparations continue towards the Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The World Championships will be contested on the renowned Bosbaan international course, with Australia fielding 13 boats across the men's, women's and para rowing programs.
