Rowing WA CEO Daniel Tackenberg has praised the latest group of nationally selected athletes, describing the selections as a reflection of the state’s high-performance pathway and club system.

"These selections highlight the strength of our rowing community in Western Australia—from our clubs and coaches through to our high-performance environments. To see WA athletes represented across Senior, Under 23 and Under 19 teams is a fantastic outcome and a testament to the depth of talent we continue to develop here in WA. We’re incredibly proud of these athletes and wish them every success as they represent Australia on the international stage."

Rowing Western Australia is proud to celebrate the selection of Western Australian athletes and coaches in the 2026 Rowing Australia national teams, recognising a strong representation across Senior, Under 23 and Under 19 pathways

At Senior level, six WA athletes have been selected across Olympic boat classes, reflecting the continued strength of high-performance rowing in the state. Annabelle McIntyre (Fremantle RC) will compete in the Women’s Single Scull, while Jacqueline Swick (Swan River RC), Bronwyn Cox (UWA Boat Club) and Giorgia Patten (West Australian RC) have been named in the Women’s Four. Johnson Daubney (Swan River RC) joins the Men’s Quad Scull, with Alexander Baroni (West Australian RC) selected as part of the Australia A team.

In coastal rowing, Alexander Rossi (West Australian RC) has been selected to represent Australia in the Beach Sprint program, highlighting WA’s growing presence across emerging disciplines

WA’s pathway system continues to produce national-level athletes, with Lachlan Brow and Jack Hansen-Knarhoi (both Fremantle RC) named in the Under 23 Men’s Sweep Squad.

At the Junior level, WA will be strongly represented in the Under 19 Women’s Four, with Oceane Jeannerat, Charlotte Hansen-Knarhoi and Olivia Hansen-Knarhoi (all Fremantle RC) joined by Stella Wandel (West Australian RC). These athletes will be supported by coach Tom Gatti (WAIS), who has also been selected to the national coaching team.

Importantly, Senior and Coastal athletes will compete fully funded by Rowing Australia, reflecting their status within the national high-performance program.

Rowing WA will provide supplementary support to emerging pathway athletes, with funding allocated to Under 23 and Under 19 representatives to assist with campaign costs and enable continued progression at the highest level.

These selections are a testament to the strength of WA’s clubs, coaches and high-performance pathway, and we congratulate all athletes and their support teams on this outstanding achievement.
