Coastal Rowing Takes Centre Stage at Rowing WA Head Races 2023

Rowing WA is thrilled to announce the introduction of Coastal Rowing events at their highly anticipated Head Races for 2023.

Taking place along the breathtaking coastline of Perth, Western Australia, this new addition promises an exhilarating and unforgettable experience for rowing enthusiasts and adventure seekers. Coastal Rowing combines the technical skill of traditional rowing with the challenge of navigating dynamic ocean conditions, including waves, wind, and tidal currents. Spectators can expect to witness an extraordinary display of strength, endurance, and teamwork, set against the picturesque backdrop of Western Australia's pristine shores.

Don't miss this opportunity to witness history in the making at Rowing WA Head Races 2023.

🗓️ The Inaugural WA Coastal Rowing Event will take place on Sunday the 11th of June 2023 during the Mettam Head Race 🗓️

Ken Edwards from Edon Industries along with Vanessa Grant from Wintech will be providing some boats for this event, but if you have your own coastal boat you are welcome to enter.

There are 7 single boats available for general use. To allow a broader number of RWA members to experience these inaugural events we have set up an expression of interest form. You can lodge an expression of interest to compete in these events here:

Once entries are closed RWA will complete the entries based on a first in first seat policy. Priority will be given to athletes that haven’t competed in a coastal event previously.

Pennant points will not be allocated for these events due to the limit we have on entries.
