Rowing WA and City of Armadale Strengthen Partnership for 2026
Rowing Western Australia is proud to announce the continuation of its major partnership with the City of Armadale for 2026, marking a significant evolution of the partnership with the inclusion of a major national championship event at Champion Lakes.
Under the renewed agreement, the City of Armadale will continue as a Major Event Partner across Rowing WA’s premier 2026 events at the Champion Lakes Regatta Centre, including the Masters State Championships, All Schools State Championships, State Championships. But 2026 will see the addition of, the Australian Masters Rowing Championships (AMRC) for the first time.
The addition of the AMRC represents a major milestone for both organisations, elevating the partnership from a state‑focused program to one that delivers national and international exposure, increased visitation and broader economic impact for Armadale and the Perth Hills region. The event will attract competitors, officials and supporters from across Australia and internationally, bringing significant visitation to the region and further reinforcing Champion Lakes’ status as one of the country’s leading rowing venues.
Rowing WA Chief Executive Officer Daniel Tackenberg said the expanded partnership reflects a shared commitment to community sport, destination promotion and long‑term event sustainability.
Mayor Ruth Butterfield said the partnership reflects the City’s ongoing focus on supporting major events, community participation and positioning Champion Lakes as a key sporting destination.
