Build a Stronger Sporting Community
Published Wed 22 Jul 2026
Build a Stronger Sporting Community
The Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport (CITS), in partnership with leading organisations across the sporting sector, is offering two free professional development opportunities for clubs, coaches, volunteers and administrators.
These workshops focus on two important areas for every sporting organisation: creating environments where girls thrive in sport and ensuring clubs are equipped to provide safe and supportive experiences for children and young people.
Why Girls Drop Out of Sport
By age 17, around half of Australian girls have stopped participating in sport. Join renowned leadership coach Monica Beazley as she explores the reasons behind this trend and shares practical strategies to help clubs create welcoming, inclusive environments where girls feel they belong and stay involved as participants, coaches, volunteers and future leaders.
Date: Tuesday 28 July
Time: 5:00pm – 6:30pm
Location: Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport, 246 Vincent Street, Leederville
