Pair Earns Second Bromley Fund Grant as U23 Dreams Take Flight
Rowing WA congratulates Jack Hansen-Knarhoi and Lachlan Brown on being awarded Bromley Fund grants for a second consecutive year, recognising their ongoing commitment and success within Australia’s high-performance rowing pathway.
Fresh from their selection in the Australian Under 23 Rowing Team, the talented WA duo have each received a $7,500 Bromley Fund grant to support their campaign at the 2026 World Rowing U23 Championships in Duisburg, Germany.
The award marks a significant milestone in the athletes’ development, coming just 12 months after the pair were recipients of the same grant following their selection in the Australian Under 19 Men’s Pair. Their progression from the U19 ranks to the U23 team in the same crew combination highlights the strength of their partnership and continued growth on the national stage.
Bromley Fund Trustee Andrew Guerin OAM noted that Ted Bromley would have been pleased to see a funded and medal-winning U19 pair from 2025 progress together into the 2026 U23 Championships, describing it as a strong indication that the fund’s objectives are being realised.
Established in 1990 through the generosity of the late Ted Bromley, the Bromley Fund supports Australian pair-oared athletes selected to represent the green and gold at international championships, helping to ease the financial burden of overseas competition.
For Jack and Lachlan, this latest recognition is a testament to years of hard work, dedication and perseverance. The funding will provide valuable support as they continue preparations for the World Rowing U23 Championships from 23–26 July.
Congratulations Jack and Lachlan. The entire WA rowing community is proud of your achievements and looks forward to cheering you on as you represent Australia on the world stage once again.
