Beach Sprint Regatta #1 Results
Published Mon 17 Nov 2025
Sunshine, Speed, and Spirit at Beach Sprint Regatta #1
Woodman Point Beach, WA – Sunday 16 November 2025:
The opening event of Rowing WA’s 2025–2026 Beach Sprints Season delivered a spectacular morning of racing, camaraderie, and coastal energy at Woodman Point Beach, just south of the Woodman Point Jetty. Athletes, volunteers, and supporters gathered under clear skies and warm spring sunshine for a regatta that showcased both the excitement of this Olympic discipline and the vibrant spirit of our rowing community.
Racing Highlights
The regatta featured a full programme of Beach Sprints events, including Men’s and Women’s Solo Time Trials, Repechages, Knockout Rounds, and the ever-popular Mixed Doubles. The unique format saw athletes sprint from the beach to their boats, navigate a slalom course, and race back to the shore, finishing with a dash to the finish bucket. The top four crews from the time trials advanced to the quarter-finals, with repechages offering a second chance for progression. Finals were fiercely contested, with medals awarded to the winners of the A-Finals in each category.
The regatta ran smoothly thanks to the efforts of Rowing WA BROs, Coogee SLSC safety staff, and a dedicated team of volunteers from Fremantle Rowing Club.
