Introduction
Rowing WA will be selecting two U26 eight crews and two coxswains (18 athletes in total), to participate in a regatta in Asia. There will be one male, and one female crew selected. Coxswains can be of any gender. This initiative forms part of a joint athlete development and cultural outreach program, partially funded by a grant from the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport (CITS). The grant from CITS will offset 50% of athlete flights, accommodation and selected other expenses. The tour offers a unique opportunity for emerging and competitive athletes to gain valuable international racing experience.
Tour Philosophy
The tour will continue to build on the positive relationships that developed as a result of the 2024 Asian Engagement tour. The primary aim of this tour is to provide U26 athletes with exposure to international racing and different cultures. It will serve as a platform to nurture talent that is aspiring to compete at the next level.
