2026 WA Pathway Squad Announced
Published Tue 07 Apr 2026
The Schools Pathway Program is a flagship Rowing Australia initiative that brings together the top schoolboy and schoolgirl rowers from each state to compete on the national stage. Designed as a key stepping stone in the rowing journey, the program gives emerging athletes and their coaches a first taste of the next level of high performance rowing.
Athletes experience the national selection environment, test themselves against the best school rowers from across the country, and work closely with experienced coaches and support staff. More than just racing, the Schools Pathway Program is about learning, growth and opportunity, inspiring young rowers to take the next step in their pathway and continue striving towards elite rowing success.
This year, the squad has completed a condensed training camp following the postponement of the PSA Head of the River. Despite the adjusted timeline, the athletes have shown an impressive ability to adapt quickly, laying strong foundations and continuing to build speed as the camp progresses. A huge thank you goes to Aquinas College and Mat Doyle for their generous support, including the use of their shed and equipment throughout the training camp.
The squad will travel to Penrith, NSW from 11 to 14 April, where they will contest the Pathway Regatta in two schoolboy VIII+'s and a schoolgirl VIII+ and coxless quad. We wish the athletes and coaches the best of luck as they go to represent WA on the National stage.
