WA athletes tune up at NSW Rowing Championships

A strong contingent of Western Australian athletes from multiple clubs, travelled to the Sydney International Rowing Centre in Penrith over the weekend to compete at the NSW Rowing Championships. This competitive racing opportunity was utilised as an important lead‑in to the upcoming Australian Rowing Championships (ARC) in Tasmania. This years event saw 122 Clubs from across NSW and Australia, with 1900 athletes and 3700+ seats.

The championships provided valuable race experience against high‑quality interstate competition, allowing athletes, coxswains and coaches to test combinations, refine race strategies and build confidence ahead of the national championships. Across the weekend, WA crews delivered a series of strong performances, reflecting the depth of preparation and commitment within the program.

The event also highlighted the collective effort behind each performance, with coaches guiding crews through competitive racing conditions and coxswains playing a critical role in executing race plans under pressure. The results achieved were a testament not only to physical preparation, but also to teamwork, discipline and resilience on the water.
