2026 Albany Regatta Wrap-Up
Published Wed 04 Mar 2026
The 2026 Albany Masters Regatta achieved its highest participation on record, drawing more than 100 competitors with nine clubs represented. The evening sit-down dinner was equally successful, welcoming 154 guests—nearly double the attendance in 2024.
The weekend began on Saturday with an 8km social row to Honeymoon Island, braving strong south-westerlies, followed by nibbles and drinks at the club shed.
Sunday started early, with racing underway at 7:00am in near-perfect conditions—calm winds and a very low tide ensuring clear visibility of all obstacles. The program ran smoothly, concluding with Race 42 at 2:33pm.
After packing up, everyone gathered at 5.30pm at the Lower Kalgan Hall for dinner, drinks, and medal presentations. The weekend wrapped up the next morning with bacon and eggs at the clubhouse and a final social row in beautiful conditions.
The Albany Club Secretary commented, "We are greatful to have two years to rest before the fun begins again in 2028."
