2022 Pathway VIII Tour
Published Fri 13 May 2022
WA Pathway VIII Athletes Gain Valuable Race Experience!
Rowing WA caught up with Ashleigh Harvey, Pathway VIII Manager on her return from Canberra, for a wrap up of the tour.
"The Pathways Program of 2022 saw a group of athletes from across a variety of schools and clubs travel to Canberra in April to race on Lake Burley Griffin. Over the 5 day tour, the group were lucky enough to train out of the Canberra Grammar boat shed, enjoyed a tour of the National Training Centre and a visit the War Memorial Galleries.
They are an outstanding group of young adults who navigated the challenges of travelling, racing and COVID with incredible maturity and a sense of fun. They gained valuable race experience in the quads and fours racing on Sunday and then again in the VIII’s on Monday."
Results for the VIII’s racing was as follows:
- Girl’s 1st VIII: 1st B Final
- Girl’s Composite VIII: 4th B Final
- Boy’s 1st VIII: 3rd A Final
- Boy’s Composite VIII: 4th B Final
