Rowing WA Congratulates Joe Tamigi

Published Fri 09 Jun 2017

Rowing WA would like to congratulate Joe Tamigi, for being invited to participate in a Master Trainers Workshop, in London, as part of a joint project between the International Rowing Federation, FISA, the IOC, and in collaboration with Youth Sports Trust International (YSTi) called the Olympic Value Education Programme (OVEP).

OVEP is a series of free and accessible teaching resources that have been created by the IOC. Using the context of Olympic sports and the core principles of Olympism, participants are encouraged to experience values-based learning and to assume the responsibilities of good citizenship. It communicates the benefit of sport and physical activity through an understanding of Olympism and its impact on individual health, enjoyment, and social interaction.

The Master Trainers Workshop will teach participants involved how to effectively deliver 6 activities and games from OVEP to help young people learn about the Olympic Values.

Speaking with Rowing WA earlier today, Joe said, “I am excited to be invited to attend the course. It’s a good opportunity to meet and talk with high level coaches from around the World, share knowledge and bring back that information to WA.”

We are very excited for you Joe and look forward to hearing all about it when you return!
