2026 Corporate Challenge: A Battle of Oars, Team Spirit, and Triumph!
This years regatta did not dissapoint! An amazing atmosphere with sublime weather conditions!
Congratulations to Hancock Iron Ore, HanRoy, Camco, PCB Contractors, Big Yellow Mining, Royal Flying Doctors, Hancock Prospecting, Hancock RDG, and WesTrac — each bringing their A-game (and a fair bit of office banter) to the 500-metre course. Over a morning of heats, semi-finals, and hard-fought finals, the competition was fierce, the teamwork inspiring, and the cheering contagious.
These crews have spent the past 4–6 weeks under the guidance of Swan River Rowing Club and ANA Rowing Club. Coaches praised the teams for their enthusiasm, commitment, and willingness to dive headfirst into the world of rowing. It’s no small feat to go from “never held an oar” to “racing full tilt” in just over a month.
Two trophies were up for grabs this year: The Corporate Cup and The Corporate Plate.
🏆 The Corporate Cup: is awarded to the best of the best. The team that was victorious in their semi-final and then ultimately went on to win the Corporate Challenge Cup Grand Final. This year’s champions — PCB Contracting, with a time of 1:31.65— powered through with precision, grit, and a perfectly timed sprint that sealed their win in style.
🥈 The Corporate Plate: is awarded to the best of the rest. This crew finished second in their semi-final and went on to win the Corporate Plate Grand Final. Hancock Iron Ore Blue, with a time of 1:41.57, took the plate, proving that determination and team spirit was at an all time high.
Whether chasing, and ultimately winning silverware or not, every crew that participated were a part of something special. The Corporate Challenge once again proved that when it comes to teamwork and fun — our corporate rowers are in a league of their own.
