Hong Kong Tour Applications Now Open
Ready to race, learn and explore on the international stage? Applications are now open for the 2026 Asian Engagement Tour to Hong Kong, offering Under-26 athletes, coxswains and coaches the chance to represent Western Australia at the 48th Hong Kong Rowing Championships.
Supported through the Asian Engagement Program, this unique opportunity combines high-level competition with valuable cultural and development experiences.

Swan River Rowing Club Celebrates 140 Years
JoinSwan River Rowing Club as it celebrates its 140th anniversary with the launch of a commemorative book documenting the club's history from 1885–2025.

Volunteers Needed for UniNationals 2026!
University rowers from across Australia are heading to Perth, and volunteers are needed to help deliver the regatta from 30 September to 2 October.

The Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport is offering two free workshops focused on key issues facing community sport.
Learn practical strategies to improve girls’ retention in sport with leadership coach Monica Beazley, and gain essential knowledge on creating and maintaining a child-safe environment through Sport Integrity Australia’s Safeguarding 101 workshop.

Pennant Season Gets Underway
A cold and drizzly start didn’t dampen the enthusiasm at Pennant #1, with racing underway from 8am and crews taking to the water for the first time this season.
UWABC set the early benchmark, topping the A, B, C and D Grade point scores, while Fremantle Rowing Club secured second in A Grade and Curtin University Boat Club claimed second in D Grade.
With valuable points already on the board, clubs will be carefully planning their crews as they look to challenge the standings at Pennant #2. Read the full results and see how your club performed.

All Schools #3 Bigger and Better
All Schools returns to Champion Lakes on Saturday 25 July for All Schools Regatta #3, hosted by UWA Boat Club. With crews continuing their build-up toward the championships, spectators can look forward to another exciting day of close racing.
Make the most of your visit with UWA Boat Club’s famous deluxe bacon and egg bun, and for the first time at an All Schools regatta, enjoy the action on the big screen with live streaming throughout the day. Can't make it to the course? Watch online and follow every race from wherever you are.

Perth to Fremantle Wrap-Up
A rescheduled Perth to Fremantle did not dampen spirits, with 137 athletes bravely completing the 16 km Head Race course. Line Honours in the Caris Bros. Trophy for scullers was awarded to UWABC's Dylan Capewell, while the Sprock Langley Perpetual Trophy for coxed eights was awarded to the WARC Men's Eight.
Perth to Fremantle can only happen thanks to the dedication of our Boat Race Officials, the support of Fremantle Rowing Club in managing event logistics, cooking up a post race feed of bacon and egg burgers and hosting the presentations, and the combined efforts of volunteers from all clubs.

Rowing Radiance Builds Inclusive Pathways
Rowing WA’s Rowing Radiance Indoor Rowing Program is creating new opportunities for people of all abilities to get involved in rowing.
Delivered in partnership with Workpower WA and funded through the Inclusive Participation Program grant from The Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport, the initiative provides welcoming and accessible indoor rowing experiences for low participation groups.
Following a successful nine-week program at Bentley, a second program is now underway in Balcatta.
Running until 2027, Rowing Radiance will continue to connect communities through rowing across Perth Metro and Regional.

Check Your Bow Ball
Before you head out for your next session, take a moment to check one of the smallest — but most important — pieces of equipment on your boat: the bow ball.
Rowing boats must be fitted with a white bow ball of at least 4cm in diameter, designed to help reduce the risk of injury and damage in the event of a collision. A missing, loose or damaged bow ball can quickly turn a minor incident into a serious one.
A quick pre-row check takes only seconds and helps keep everyone safer on the water. If in doubt, replace it before you launch.
