  Beach Sprint come and try

Beach Sprints Practice Sessions

Our Beach Sprints season got off to a fantastic start at Coogee Beach on Saturday, with a great group taking to the water to experience coastal rowing.

Despite the conditions becoming more challenging, participants embraced the opportunity to try coastal singles and doubles, practice boat handling and experience the unique demands of coastal rowing. The group included experienced rowers and newcomers, including two first-timers.

Most importantly, there were plenty of smiles and enthusiasm, with everyone finishing the session keen for more. A brilliant start to the Beach Sprints season!

  Invictus

Invictus Australia Sports Festival

Perth hosted the indoor rowing component of the Invictus Australia Sports Festival at Scarborough Amphitheatre on Saturday, with competitors from Australia, New Zealand and the Republic of Korea taking to the ergs.

Despite a brief pause in racing as the rain passed, competitiors embraced the challenge and created a fantastic atmosphere throughout the event. It was wonderful to see indoor rowing included in the festival and veterans coming together through sport, supporting and encouraging one another along the way. Congratulations to everyone who participated and helped make the day a memorable celebration of sport, resilience, camaraderie and community spirit.

  BRO Corner

What Motivated you to become a BRO?

Our Boat Race Officials are essential to delivering regattas across WA. But how did they find themselves in these roles and what motivates them to stay?

For some, it's as simple as, "My kids already rowed, so I was there anyway. Why not watch the racing up close?" For others, "It's a good way to give back to the sport after competitive rowing," or they simply "like helping out at the regattas I'm not racing at."

Why not become part of the team? Whether you're looking to give back after your time as a competitive rower or want to help during your off-season, becoming a BRO is a great way to stay involved in our rowing community.
