Guildford to Garrett Entries Open!

The Heads season kicks off with the Guildford to Garrett race on 21 June.
 
Set over a winding 5km course on the Upper Swan River, crews will race from Guildford Bridge to Garrett Road Bridge, with the first events starting at 8:30am. It’s the perfect way to test speed and endurance early in the season.

2026 Youth Olympic Games Opportunity

The journey to Dakar 2026 is underway.

Rowing Australia has secured one male and one female quota place for the Youth Olympic Games, with selection to be finalised at the Beach Sprint Australian Rowing Championships (3–6 September, Gold Coast).

Athletes born on or after 14 November 2008 are invited to nominate for this unique opportunity.

Coach Development Funding Still Available

Have you been thinking about stepping into coaching or building your skills further? Now is the time.

Through the G’Rowing Clubs Grants Program, clubs can access funding to support coach development, including Level 1 accreditation, first aid, CPR, and other relevant training opportunities. With funding still available across clubs, this is a great opportunity to invest in your development and give back to your club community.

We encourage members interested in coaching or accreditation to reach out to their club to explore the available support.

Hosted by Penrhos, IGSSA Regatta #4 takes place at Champion Lakes on Saturday 13 June. 

PLC once again claimed the win in the first Eight, increasing their gap on second place by over 10sec, compared to the 3 second gap at IGSSA #2! Schoolgirl A Single goes to John XXIII with a cracker time of 6:35! Will they catch her at IGSSA #4?

Only two more bacon & egg burgers to go, will MLC hold onto their 2025 victory?

  All Schools Season Kicks Off
 

All Schools Season Kicks Off

The All Schools Season kicks off Sunday with entries driven growth in school programs and return of Great Southern Grammar, rowing Albany Rowing Club.
 
Racing with the Year 9 Mixed Coxed Quads at 8:30 am and concludes at 2:30 pm with the Open Schoolboys’ and Schoolgirls’ Coxed Eights. It been seven years since Great Southern Grammar competed, and their return to Champion Lakes for All Schools #1 is welcomed.
 
The season includes three regattas and a State Championships in August. Shenton College will be chasing the Champion School title for the 3rd consecutive year!

As the 2026 Australian Masters Rowing Championships wrap up, we extend our sincere thanks to everyone who made it possible.

To Rowing Australia, our partners, officials and volunteers—your commitment and expertise delivered a world-class event on and off the water. To our athletes and supporters, thank you for bringing the energy, spirit and community that define Masters rowing. And finally, a quiet thank you to the weather gods for delivering when it counted.

Indoor Champions Crowned

WA’s Indoor Rowing Champions have been decided, with a great day of racing at All Saints’ College showcasing strong performances across all age groups and distances.

From 2km pieces to fast-paced sprints and relays, the day highlighted the depth of indoor rowing right across our community.

A big thank you to the All Saints’ volunteers who helped the event run smoothly and kept everyone fuelled throughout the day.

WA Squad Takes on Shanghai

A team of five WA athletes recently represented the state at the Rose Regatta in Shanghai, gaining valuable international racing and cultural experience through the Asian Engagement program.

Racing strong crews from Estonia, China, New Zealand, Italy and the Czech Republic, the squad combined well across quad and doubles events, showcasing both performance and teamwork on the water.

The tour also provided a valuable international coaching opportunity, with Caine Bristow supporting the campaign.

WA Rowing Member Recognised in 2026 King's Birthday Honours

Congratulations to ANA Rowing Club’s Anthony “Tony” Beech AM on being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in the 2026 King’s Birthday Honours List.

Recognised for his distinguished career in industrial relations and service to the Western Australian community 

A dedicated ANA member for more than 29 years, Tony has contributed as a volunteer, coach and former president, leaving a lasting legacy on the club and wider rowing community

On-Water Safety Accreditation - Speed Exemption

Rowing WA reminds all members that the Swan and Canning Rivers Speed Exemption is currently in place, allowing coaching and safety vessels to operate effectively during rowing training and events.

All coaches are required to ensure they have completed the On‑Water Safety Accreditation online and that they are familiar with the current conditions and updates under the speed exemption.
