Brett Woolfitt Awarded May Campbell Medal for Distinguished Service to Sport
Brett Wollfit will be recognised at the WA Sport Awards this month for more than 60 years of extraordinary contribution to rowing in Western Australia. His lifelong dedication as an official, administrator and mentor has left a lasting legacy across the rowing community.

Meet Our New Team Member!
We are pleased to welcome Katina Bowie to the organisation as our new Inclusion Officer.
Katina brings more than 20 years’ experience in strategic corporate affairs and stakeholder engagement, with a strong background in government relations, crisis and issues management and leading change across both public and private sectors. Her collaborative, relationship‑driven approach will support our commitment to the inclusion project with respectful and sustainable outcomes across all programs.

Beach Sprints Season is Done and Dusted!
A scorching yet perfectly calm day set the scene for an electric Beach Sprint State Championships. Athletes pushed themselves to the edge from the opening time trials, fighting right through every stage, with a talented few making hard‑earned A and B Finals.
Spectators were treated to blistering speed, tight finishes and some truly world‑class beach running as competitors left nothing in the tank in pursuit of state glory.

 New Date for the Bunbury Regatta
Please note there has been a change of date to the Bunbury Big Boat Regatta and The Eaton Heads race.
The Bunbury Regatta was originally scheduled for Anzac, however, a parade taking place in Bunbury to commemorative the Anzacs means that it is no longer logistically possible to run the regatta on that date. As a result, the event has been brought forward.
- The Bunbury Regatta will now take place on Saturday 18 April 2026
- The Eaton Head Race will move to Sunday 19 April 2026
We appreciate everyone’s understanding and flexibility with this adjustment.

2026 WA Masters State Team Coaches and Selectors Announced
We are pleased to announce the 2026 WA Masters State Team coaches and selectors. This year’s appointments bring a wealth of experience across both the men’s and women’s squads, supported by a strong selection panel. With the Australian Masters Rowing Championships taking place in Perth, it promises to be an exciting season for the Masters State Team!

PSA Season is Loading
PSA rowing is back for 2026, with the season kicking off on Saturday 7 February at Champion Lakes. Trinity College will host Regatta #1, setting the stage for what promises to be an exciting start to the season.
Christ Church Grammar School are the host for Regatta #2 on Saturday 14 February. Racing just one week after regatta 1, this gives the athletes a chance to challenge the competing crews and see if they can gain speed as the season progresses.

Child Safeguarding in Sport for Athletes, Parents, Coaches and Club Members!
Sport Integrity Australia, together with Rowing WA, CITS and Rowing Australia are delivering free, targeted safeguarding workshop. All sessions will be held at CITS, 246 Vincent Street, Leederville on Thursday 19 February. The Athlete and Parents/Careres session are from 5-6pm.
- Athletes - to help athletes aged 14 to 17 understand their rights and stay safe in sport. Presented by Mat Sinclair, the session teaches young people how to recognise unsafe behaviour and speak up with confidence while participating in sport.

- Parents/Carers - to help parents and carers create safer sporting environments for children. Presented by Wendy Carter, the session covers how to choose child‑safe clubs, support positive behaviour, and access safeguarding resources. It's a practical guide for anyone wanting to ensure young athletes feel safe, supported and confident in sport.

- Coaches and Club Members - to help coaches and club members create safer, more inclusive sporting environments for young people. Presented by Mat Sinclair and Wendy Carter, the session focuses on recognising harm, meeting legal obligations, and building trust within junior teams. It’s an ideal opportunity for anyone involved in coaching to strengthen their child‑safety knowledge and support the wellbeing of young athletes.

Volunteer registrations are now open for the 2026 Australian Masters Rowing Championship (AMRC), and we’d love your support!
From 27–30 May 2026, Rowing WA will host Masters rowers from across Australia for this major national event. The championship would not be possible without the dedication and generosity of our volunteers.
Volunteering is a great way to get involved, support the sport of rowing, and help deliver an outstanding experience for athletes competing at a National level.

Sport has the power to shape culture, and Starick’s Respectful Relationships Sport and Recreation Program is helping WA clubs lead meaningful change.
