Volunteer at AMRC 2026
With less than a month to go, we are looking for our last few volunteers to fill our roster at the Australian Masters Rowing Championships!
From 27–30 May 2026, at Champion Lakes, Rowing WA will host athletes from across Australia and overseas.
No experience required and flexible time commitments are available. Get involved, be part of the atmosphere, and help deliver a memorable regatta.

Bunbury Big Boats & Eaton Head Race Results
Saturday 18 April saw the Bunbury Big Boat Regatta once again deliver exciting 500m sprint racing in ideal conditions. Crews embraced the short, sharp racing before enjoying medal presentations attended by Bunbury Mayor Jaysen Miguel. UWA dominated much of the racing, while the Bunbury Masters Women continued their strong form, again winning the Masters Women’s Quad.
Racing continued on Sunday with the Eaton Head Race on the Collie River. UWA Boat Club won the Open 8+, with UWA sculler Cal Emery awarded the Bill Cooper Perpetual Trophy. ANA Rowing Club impressed in both Women and Men's Masters 8+ events.
Rowing WA would like to thank the City of Bunbury for their support of the Bunbury Big Boats Regatta and helping us make the weekend a success.

IGSSA Regatta #1 Loading
The IGSSA rowing season gets underway this Saturday 2 May with Regatta #1, proudly hosted by St Hilda’s at Champion Lakes.
There will be plenty of excitement on the water as crews line up for the first time this season. For some girls it will be their very first regatta, while for others it marks a return to a familiar environment. Although the morning will be chilly, conditions are set to be ideal, with sunshine and light winds forecast. Racing, excitement, teamwork and early‑season energy will be on full display.
And on the banks, the legendary bacon and egg burger competition begins once again.
We wish all crews a safe, successful and memorable start to the IGSSA season!

Master's #3 Incoming
Masters Regatta #3 takes place this weekend at Champion Lakes, proudly hosted by the West Australian Rowing Club.
With an extra‑early start on the water, our Masters State Team crews will be racing for qualification times for the upcoming Masters Nationals. The outlook is promising, with mild temperatures and light winds expected — great conditions for quality racing.
Be sure to say hello and thank you to our Boat Race Officials, who play a vital role in ensuring racing is always safe and fair. Good luck, Masters!

2026 Australian Rowing Teams Announced
Under 19, Under 23 and Senior Australian Rowing teams have been selected following national selection trials in Penrith, with Western Australia strongly represented across the squads.
The selected athletes will compete internationally as part of the 2026 World Rowing Cup and World Championships campaigns. The WA community are your biggest fans. Yeah WA!

2026 Pathway Squad Results
The WA Pathway Squad recorded an impressive showing at the Pathway Regatta in Penrith, racing alongside the Under 19 Australian Team Trials.
Despite a shortened preparation, WA crews delivered composed, resilient performances, highlighted by gold for the Girls Coxless Quad and silver for the WA First Boys Eight.

On-Water Safety Accreditation - Speed Exemption
Rowing WA reminds all members that the Swan and Canning Rivers Speed Exemption is currently in place, enabling coaching and safety vessels to operate effectively during rowing training and events. All coaches are to ensure they have completed their On-Water Safety Accreditation online, and famialiarise themselves with the updates to the speed exemption.

Casual Coaches Required
Fremantle Rowing Club is seeking expressions of interest from skilled, reliable, and motivated casual rowing coaches to form a pool of coaches for the 2026 pennant season (27 April – 12 September 2026). Coaches are required for early morning or evening coaching sessions that will fit around your study or work commitments, with multiple sessions per week available.
If you currently hold a level 1 coaching accreditation and would like to advance your coaching career at one of WA's oldest and most established rowing clubs, then this is for you!
