Coxswains, Existing and Interested

Have you heard? Rowing Australia has just released a new online Coxswain's Accreditation Course.

All rowers know that to have a coxswain in the boat is amazing, but to have a great coxswain in the boat can be a luxury.

This course covers the essentials of coxing all the way through to how to work with crews, coaches and navigate the demands of racing. It's designed to help develop your skills in leading a crew safely come race days.

Don't Assume They've Seen you

You've seen them? That's great. Don't assume they've seen you.

Over summer, many crews go out coxless or coachless. It is important to make sure that when you are out on the water you are alert to where other crews are, any stopped boats or other vessels that use the Canning and Swan river. While the sun is up earlier and earlier, the stand-up paddleboarder going the same way as you might not think to check behind him, so you should.

Safety is everyone's responsibility. 💛🖤
