Congratulations Annabelle McIntyre OAM!

The AOC has congratulated twenty four (24) Australian Olympians - including eight rowers - from the Tokyo 2020 Games who have been honoured in the Australia Day honours announced on Australia Day.

Congratulations to Annabelle McIntyre who was awarded an OAM for her history making gold medal win in Tokyo.  Annabelle returned home as the first WA female rower to ever win Gold at an Olympics.  A moment in time that we know we're not ever going to forget.  We will forever remember "where we were..." on that day.

Basic Rigging | Presented by: Mike Quinn

Our Hour of Power workshops kick off 2022 with the ever popular Basic Rigging Course. Presented by Mike Quin, you will be taught all of the basic rigging techniques, what to look out for & how to set your boat up for your individual needs.

The workshop will be held at Swan River Rowing Club due to Rowing WA being closed for renovations.

Rowing WA Renegotiates Speed Exemption for
Swan & Canning Rivers.

The review conducted this year by the Department of Transport (Maritime DoT) was the most thorough in some time due to a range of training-related incidents & community complaints over the past few years.

The new approval & exemption is available on the RWA website HERE.

Rowing WA has a new Water Safety Guidelines &
Risk Mitigation webpage

Rowing WA now has a new Water Safety Guidelines & Risk Mitigation page with valuable, up to date information in relation to the new water safety guideline.

Rowing WA’s Safety Guidelines seek to ensure that personal safety is paramount and that local codes of practice and rules are upheld.

As part of the new conditions under the Speed Exemption, all motorised vessel operators (i.e. coaches) will need to formally acknowledge that they have read and understood these new Safety Guidelines.

Western Australian Insitute of Sport

Are you passionate about rowing and coaching? Do you want to uncover and help develop the next generation of Western Australian rowers? The Western Australian Institute of Sport is looking for a Rowing Pathway Coach to join the successful WAIS rowing program.

The Pathway Coach supports the Rowing Head Coach in providing a nationally recognised daily training environment that develops rowers capable of successfully transitioning onto WAIS scholarship and Rowing Australia Underage national teams.
