Welcome to our latest edition of Oar Talk - keeping you up to date on all things rowing.  This week saw Annabelle McIntyre OAM honoured at the SportWest Awards evening as a 2021 SportWest WA Sports Star of the Year Finalist!

Following on we congratulate our WA nominees honoured as finalists for the RA 2021 Hancock Prospecting Rower of the Year Participation Awards.  Read also about our events coming up celebrating International Women's Day & don't forget, the PSA 2022 Head of the River will be livestreamed tomorrow - check out the PSA website for the link.

The 2022 Head of the River Regatta has been brought forward to TOMORROW!

This decision reflects the likely impact of COVID-19 on school communities over coming weeks & months.

To prioritise the safety of students, attendance at the venue is limited to participants, staff and officials, and immediate family. The event will be live streamed to provide quality vision of all races for the wider interested audience.

Earlier this week, Rowing Australia announced the finalists in the 2021 Hancock Prospecting Rower of the Year Participation Awards Categories. Participation Awards are presented to the grassroots champions of our sport & encompass the Coles Volunteer of the Year, Club of the Year & Volunteer of the Year.

The governing bodies of rowing within each state are invited to put forward nominations to Rowing Australia for these prestigious awards.

Rowing WA are honoured to announce that three of our nominees have been selected as finalists.

Level 2 Coaching Course | Practical Workshop

The Level 2 Coaching Practical Workshop is aimed at senior school & club coaches in conjunction with the online component.

This program trains coaches who already have their Level 1 accreditation, some experience in the sport & aims to provide the coach with the knowledge & skills to develop athletes to their potential.

Level 2 Coach Accreditation Course - Online component must be completed prior to attending this course.

Changing the lives of young people through rowing!

Making Waves is on the search for Program Coaches to join their team. If you are enthusiastic, passionate & want to make a difference in the lives of young people then this is the role for you.

Making Waves is based at Champion Lakes Regatta Centre & operates during the school term.
