My goodness!  What a bumper edition Oar Talk is this fortnight.  Rowing is definitely ramping up for 2022.

This edition sees the announcement of the 2022 Schools Pathway VIII Invitees, WAIS welcomes Tom Gatti to the family as he's appointed Rowing Pathway Coach, our very own regatta season kicks off early tomorrow morning with the Master Regatta 1 AND.... the 2022 Australian Rowing Championships commences on Monday, 28.03.2022!

Not forgetting either who's leading the scoreboard in the Act Belong Commit | 2022 Club & Schools Engagement Competition!

2022 Regatta Season Kicks Off With Our Masters!

Good luck to our Master's rowers this Saturday competing in the first regatta of the season on the beautiful Canning River course!

Please keep in mind that current COVID restrictions unfortunately do not allow spectators at the regatta. Only rowers, coaching staff, & other staff will be allowed at the venue.

Admidst relocation woes & COVID challenges, Rowing Australia & Rowing Victoria have achieved a great feat in pulling the event together with the help of countless volunteers & long hours, so that our rowers can compete.

Aussie rowing heroes including Tokyo 2020 Gold Medallists Alex Purnell OAM and Rosie Popa OAM will launch the new Coles Start2Row program at schools across Australia this month.

The new program, developed by Rowing Australia and Coles, aims to provide nearly 10,000 school students across the country with an opportunity to participate in indoor rowing – many for their first time.

The State Government has announced that COVID-19 restrictions will ease from Level 2 to Level 1 measures.

What does this mean for rowing?

From 12.01am Thursday 31 March, outdoor community sport will no longer have spectator limits, while indoor community sport will be subject to mask and venue requirements.
