The Australian Underage Selection Regatta was held from the 23rd - 27th April with WA sending both a men's and a women's squad.

The WA Pathway Women's Squad includes Georgia Seedm Olivia Jones, Jennifer Bolster, Eleanor Swick, Amy Gibbs, Emma Wilson, Grace Bowen, Michali Oliver, Caitlin Ward, Annabel Counsil, and Bridget Brown.

The WA Pathway Men's Squad includes Cody Yelland, Michael Spadaccini, Tim Sander, Josh Laurito, David MacKinnon, Luke Laurance, James Marthins, Liam Devlin, Riley King, Ben Gerrard, Toby Amaranti, Hamish Henriques, and Joshua Logan.

First up at the regatta was the small boat races to contest for Australian Junior Selection. There were two small boat crews that deserve a very special mention. The Men's Coxed Four that was Stroked by Josh Laurito, Ben Gerrard, David MacKinnon, Tim Sander and Josh Logan (cox) came a very close second to a Queensland composite crew with a margin of 2.2 seconds. The WA crew had limited training togethor and they were racing against  athletes that were out of school who had been training specifically for this event for 12 months. Congratulations to these WA rowers on this very impressive row.

The second special mention goes to the WA Women's Pair with Eleanor Swick and Olivia Jones. These two girls had never raced a pair togethor before however this didn't stop them from an amazing row fighting for Australian Junior Selection. These girls came second with a 5 second margin to the winning crew. A remarkable row for these two young ladies.

Both of our Pathway Eight crews had really great races. The Men's Pathway Eight consisted of Josh Laurito, James Marthins, Michael Spadaccini, Ben Gerrard, David MacKinnon, Tim Sander, Riley King, Liam Devlin, and cox Josh Logan. This crew came 3rd behind Victoria (1st) and Queensland (2nd). This result was 2 spots better than last year.
The WA Pathway Women's Eight consisted of Eleanor Swick, Olivia Jones, Grace Bowen, Emma Wilson, Paris Caporn, Annabel Counsil, Jennifer Bolster, Georgia Seed, and cox Bridget Brown. This was the first time that WA had sent a women's crew as part of the Pathway Squad. The girls 4th edged out by 0.5 of second from Victoria for third.

Congratulations to all the rowers, and thank you to the parents and coaches for all their support and encouragement of our crews. A special mention must go to Jamie Hewlett for all his hard work in the lead up to this regatta and during the event.
